Nikki + Ryan

November 20th brought me right back to Rhinegeist Brewery for another November wedding. I’ve known the groom’s momma for years and had the privilege of shooting Ryan’s senior portraits several years ago. It was then that I met Nikki for the first time. This couple was super cute together back then, so I knew they’d be amazing on their wedding day!

Please enjoy a collection from Ryan and Nikki’s wedding day!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Rebecca + Zachary

Friday, November 11th was a little rainy as I drove down to Over the Rhine. More rainy than a “little,” if I’m honest. I’d loaded the clear umbrellas and resigned myself to shooting this wedding 100% indoors. And then it stopped.

I’ve known Rebecca and her family for several years and couldn’t wait to have the opportunity to capture such a wonderful day for her and her new husband. Two years ago, we met down in Over the Rhine for their Engagement Session. It was pretty awesome to return for their nuptials.

Please enjoy a look into Rebecca and Zach’s wedding day!

Congratulations to the beautiful couple!

Jordan + Eric

It was a little rainy in Indiana on Saturday, October 2nd. The drive took a little longer than anticipated. But the day was basically perfect.

I know these people. These are some of my favorite people. The younger brother to my best friend; I’ve known this groom since he was a baby. I’ve known the bride for years. Not as many, but YEARS. We’ve all shivered our butts off at Kings Island’s Haunt. And more recently, braved one of those 95 degree, 100% humidity, beautiful (insert eyeroll) Cincinnati Summer days for some engagement portraits.

I am so honored to have been asked to photograph their big (finally) wedding day.

Please enjoy!

Congratulations to Jordan and Eric!

Sydney’s Bat Mitzvah

A week or so ago, I was asked to photograph a bat mitzvah and the events surrounding. Disclosure: I have never had the privilege of attending one before so I was incredibly excited to not only cover, but to experience such an event. (read: hold onto your hats, there’s gonna be A LOT of pictures.) Especially with Syd playing the main role.

The last time I photographed Sydney, it was about 5 years ago. You can imagine that she experienced quite a growth spurt in those several years.

Dinner1

My “job” began Friday evening at The Stir in Montgomery, Ohio. The evening included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and good company.

I met Sydney and Co. the next morning, downtown at the Issac M. Wise Temple. As guests arrived, I made my way up to the balcony and prepped myself and my gear for one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have photographed.

Services were followed by a luncheon in the temple’s basement. I took the opportunity to snag Sydney and her girlfriends for a short, little photo shoot.

Girls

After finishing up some formal/family portraits, I returned home with enough time to whip out the hair crimper and heavy, over-sized earrings. It was time to cover the after party over at the Sharonville Convention Center. 80’s Style!

Party 1

As a child of the 80’s, I cannot even begin to describe the nostalgia experienced as I roamed Sydney’s decade-themed party. The center pieces were made with day-glow painted cassette tapes and record sleeves. The candy table included all of those candies from my tween years. The clothes… the attire was amazing.

There was a photo booth, a song list straight out of the 80’s and 90’s (hello “Humpty Dance,”) an Adults Vs Kids dance-off, a friendly game of Musical Chairs, 80’s outfits, a “Sydney” slideshow, and did I mention the 80’s clothes?

So fun!!! Like, totally fun! Radical, you might say.

My Monday with Mr. McDonald

Another year has flown by and I once again found myself hanging out with one of my favorite corporate icons, for one of my favorite organizations. June 20th saw the return of the annual Golf Classic, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Cincinnati.

As with previous years, it was a beautiful, hot, humid, and very entertaining day.RMH1RMH2

Yep, I got burnt. And I had a blast doing it. Until next year, golf course!

Relay for Life of the Soul V2.0

Greetings and my apologies for being so quiet on my blog. I think I’m still in denial about my cruise’s end, some five months ago. Anywho…

I’ve been keeping myself busy with family and photography; and I’m just now rediscovering some time management since school let out. So, let’s do some Show & Tell from the most recent American Cancer Society event!

Friday, June 3rd was my second time covering the Relay for Life of the Soul at Woodward Career Technical High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event was created to celebrate cancer survivors and their caretakers; as well as honoring those that have been lost to the disease. Soul also helps to bring more awareness to the African-American communities about early diagnosis, treatment, and support.

Participants are invited to camp out in the football field, walk the track, eat some tasty foods, watch performances from the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, participate in raffle drawings, dance, play games, and party their night away.

So without further adieu…ACS1ACS4ACS3ACS5ACS6ACS8ACS7ACS2ACS9

My 3-Day Trip to Colorado

A few weeks ago, I went for a quick trip to visit my cousin, grandparents, aunt, and uncle. I flew into Denver International Airport and met my cousin, who currently resides on the West Coast.

From Denver, we drove the 2-hour drive to Florence. The trip took us through 3 hail storms, a possible tornado, Colorado Springs (land of the crazy weather,) and a brief stop off at the Garden of the Gods.Garden of the Gods

After our VERY brief visit to the Garden of the Gods (thanks again, Mother Nature,) we met up with our Colorado family. Allow me to introduce to you our team of bandits:teamofbandits

Please enjoy the following images captured on our day 2 journey, throughout Florence, Canon City, Silvercliffe, and Westcliffe.scene3scene2 scene1 scene4

That evening, we stopped by the Grand Re-opening of the Royal Gorge… It poured. And then it stormed. And then it flooded.rg rain candidRoyal Gorge in the Rain

On Day 3, our final day, we decided to return to the Royal Gorge.Royal Gorge Part 2Royal Gorge

And before we headed back to the airport, my aunt and uncle took us on the tour of Skyline Drive. I seriously do not know how parents of driving teens do not freak out over some of these “scenic” routes!Skyline Drive

And then, it was back to the airport…   Through rain, flooding highways, and a nice, little, Spring blizzardSnow                Yup, wasn’t kidding.

Anyway, even with the weather, our quick visit was a great visit. It’s been a while since I have been able to do some scenic and nature photography. If you liked the images enough to want something for your wall, please feel free to visit my “Prints for Purchase” page on my website.

Thank you for looking!

Steve + Jennifer

May 16th, 2015 was overcast, with a 60% chance of rain. And at the Bel-wood Country Club, it did rain. But as “they” say, rain is good luck on a wedding day. So these rain drops were not going to put a damper on Steve and Jennifer’s big day!
